2019 CFA Institute Ethics Challenge

Business students participate in the 2019 CFA Institute Ethics Challenge!

On November 14, 2019, the MC School of Business will send a team to compete in the 2019 CFA Institute Ethics Challenge for the first time. The mission of the CFA institute is to lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence. In this challenge, teams of 3-5 university students analyze a case containing a variety of ethical dilemmas faced by investment professionals. The team will identify the ethical issues involved and formulate solutions and approaches for resolving these issues. At the final stage, they will present their conclusions to a panel of judges through a power point presentation for the chance to win the local competition.

This year, we have five bright students, (pictured left to right) Ray Hulett, Mauri Welzien, Jonathan Harding, Chris Thomason, and Felicity Barnett, who will be representing Mississippi College. Faculty mentors Mr. Chris Smith and Dr. Kristena Gaylor are excited to see what the students come up with and help instill in them strong ethics to prepare them for a successful career.

Mississippi College’s School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the premier business school accreditation in the world.
