This spring, students in the School of Business had the opportunity to explore the complex world of entrepreneurship through the Special Topics: Mergers & Acquisitions class, taught by local entrepreneur and guest instructor Mr. Sunny Desai. The course gave students real-world examples and a firsthand look at how business deals are evaluated, structured, and executed.

Throughout the course, Mr. Desai taught students about identifying acquisition opportunities, financing strategies, and managing post acquisition integration. This was a wonderful opportunity for students to hear from someone actively operating in the field.

“Mr. Desai showed us how to apply our classroom knowledge in real business situations,” said Ellie Henderson, a student in the course. “I now have a much better understanding of the world of M&A.”

For Ni Van, the class shifted her perspective on business and finance. “Mr. Desai’s transparency and encouragement helped me see that debt can be a tool, not a threat. He made the world of investing and entrepreneurship feel accessible.”

Courses like this one are helping MC Business students prepare to take bold steps in the business world. The School of Business is grateful to Sunni Desai for sharing his time and expertise with our students.
