The Mississippi Christian University School of Business is proud to recognize Steven “Steve” M. Longo ('82) as the 2026 School of Business Alumnus of the Year.

A respected business leader, dedicated community servant, and proud MC graduate, Longo exemplifies the values that define the School of Business. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, leadership, and service while remaining grounded in the principles that shaped his time at Mississippi Christian University.

Longo graduated from Mississippi College in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting and minoring in Mathematics. During his time on campus, he distinguished himself both academically and athletically. He was selected for membership in Omicron Delta Kappa, the national leadership honor society, and competed in track and cross country, serving as team captain for both programs. He was also a member of Mississippi College's Gulf South Conference Championship teams in 1978 and 1979.

Following graduation, Longo began his professional career with Moore and Powell, CPAs before joining his family's food distribution business, where he served as General Manager for 15 years. His career later included service as Accounting Officer for the Gulf Coast Community Foundation before spending two decades as an Investment Associate with Merrill Lynch.

In 2020, Longo partnered with his brother to establish The Longo Group, an investment and financial planning firm that has grown into a ten-member team. Under his leadership, the firm has earned national recognition, including AdvisorHub's "Advisors to Watch" honors in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2026, as well as Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisor recognition in Louisiana from 2023 through 2026.

Beyond his professional success, Longo has devoted significant time to serving his community. He served as Treasurer and Board Member of East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity and has worked closely with Saint Stanislaus Catholic High School to develop a leadership program for ninth-grade students, helping young people cultivate leadership skills, personal growth, and a commitment to achievement.

Longo's career reflects the lasting impact of a business education rooted in faith, character, and service. His journey from student-athlete to successful business owner and community leader serves as an inspiration to current and future generations of School of Business students.

The School of Business is honored to recognize Steve Longo as its 2026 Alumnus of the Year and celebrate the remarkable legacy of leadership and service he continues to build.
